Anybody can do a task. Better is the person who can do it well. The best is the person who takes the task and creates something.

Don’t we all have the desire to create something? Something that leaves an impression long after we or even the creation is gone? Shouldn’t we all strive to take a mundane task or ordinary job and do something with it that’s never been done before?

I believe the ability to create something for a client is the key to business longevity. Creativity is what will separate and distinguish us from other companies that offer similar services or products. People are going to haggle over a price of a commodity but not over a creation. And why is that? because there is nothing to compare it to. If the product or service you produce/offer weren’t unique then why would someone pay more for it? Customers feel it’s not only illogical but also foolish to pay more for a product that can be found cheaper somewhere else. The solution to that dilemma is creation.

I know I can bake a cake because I’ve done it before. I know it tasted pretty good, too. But I also know I can’t do this:

This ‘creation’is why they can charge money for cake and I can’t even though my cake may taste just as good (let’s just pretend). To succeed you must be willing to do or be what no one else can or would dare to do or be. Anybody can bake a cake, but it takes someone special to make me hesitate before I dig into the cake because it just might look better than it tastes.

So create something! Take the mundane and make it magical; take the ordinary and turn it into extraordinary. Customers will pay for it; our task is to create something they’ve never experienced and thereby show them what they should buy.

The unique creation will sell itself.
